Tyrrell’s Farm

Nestled in the heart of Cowbit, Lincolnshire, our family-run farm welcomes you to wander our fields and experience the seasons offerings.

Our Family Roots

Tyrrell’s Farm trading under J.W Tyrrell and Son is a 4th generation family farm, (5th in training), based in and around the village of Cowbit that traces its origins back to the 1930’s.

James William Tyrrell started with a smallholding in the centre of the village that has now been expanded, by his son and grandsons over the years into the farm we know and love today.

The family arable farm/horticultural business grows outdoor cut flowers, pumpkins, cereals, sugar beet and daffodils in addition to its pick your own events.

Pumpkin Patch

Sunflowers

Back in 2021, we opened our farm gates for our first‑ever PYO pumpkin event, not knowing quite what to expect but excited to share our fields with the community.

What began as a small, heartfelt idea quickly grew into something special. Each year since, we’ve added new activities, improved our facilities, and worked tirelessly to create an experience that families look forward to.

From bigger pumpkin patches to better pathways, more photo spots, and plenty of seasonal fun, we’ve continued to build on what we started—always with the goal of making sure every visitor has a fantastic time.

After the success of our PYO pumpkin events, we felt inspired to take things a step further. Flowers and bulbs have always been a traditional part of what we grow here on the farm, so the idea of offering PYO sunflowers and wildflowers felt like a natural next chapter for us.

In 2025, we launched our very first summer picking event. It’s still early days, but we’re excited about its potential and hopeful that, in time, you’ll come to enjoy our sunny summer fields just as much as our autumn pumpkin patch.

The Tyrrell Team

A family team is at the heart of our PYO events, focused on keeping the farm sustainable for the years ahead and making sure you and your family have a great visit.

We’re always around the fields and farmyard, so don’t hesitate to stop for a chat — we love meeting visitors and sharing a bit of what we do.
